Wait For It................

.............The Quilting Diaries may soon turn into my new business.  When the vision for quilting and blogging popped into my head a year ago, there were ideas on top of idea on what it would become. For those who are close to me, know that I always have tons of ideas.  However, my struggle is bringing them into focus and narrowing things down to where there is a clear vision. My strength is when I get a clear vision along with some pressure there is no stopping me.  So the resolve was to just start quilting and blogging and see what happens.

There have been several inquiries about me making quilts for profit. Since my husband and I decided that I would quit work to stay home full-time and school the boys, there has still been a desire to make  money.  For the last 10+ years, I've wanted to start my own business. Not just for money but to be an example for my kids and to possibly build something that they can be apart of. Now may be that time.

It is a little scary because there is so much still to be learned and perfected but so what. I guess, I'll be learning and perfecting a lot more. So for the longest, the plain was to come up with my own designs and patterns. Now is the perfect time to start.

This sketch book was spotted at Barnes & Nobles today and has become my inspiration. I already have a design that I haven't seen anywhere. Just haven't had time to doddle it in the new sketch book yet.

OH!!  The new look on the blog was an accident that I was forced to keep, but it has quickly grown on me.

Weekend Work

Cut strip for a new quilt top

Strips pieced together. There will be a three inch boarder.
I also started piecing together the plus quilt that has been on the wall for a month.  After piecing together the squares across, piecing the rows together became and issue so I started on what is covering it.

Most exciting was that I SOLD this quilt that I made last year.
The buyer really likes my work and has already placed an order for 2 twin sized quilts for his grandchildren.
