Since The Last Post,

I finished the Picnic Sparkle Quilt for my aunt.
She picked it up and I didn't get to take a  nice bright picture of it, so this pick is by her son. I plan to make another one, but twin size using different fabrics.

I have started back on the Scrappy Comic Strip disaster.
However, I still rather not show it, but I am going to finish it. I am not a quitter.

When I stumbled across design walls from fellow bloggers, I decided to make one for myself. I think it is a must for any quilter for the purpose of designing the layout. You don't have to worry about putting away your fabric and then trying to put it back when you get ready to work on it again. I fell in love with the idea of having a layered design wall for multiple projects from Sew Katie Did

Mine is in the beginning stages.

I spent a lot of time trying to find the lest expensive way to do this. What I found was that a softtop bed under pad will do it and it only cost me $9 from walmart. It is vinyl on the back and soft felt like cotton on the top. Before I make my wall layered, I want a under pad big enough for at least a queen sized project.

So what you see above on my design wall is what I am working on using the reunion Charm pack and navy blue solids.  I am waiting for my fabric for the Lazarus Quilt to arrive to get started on it.

That's all for now.
Tell me what you think.

  2. The sparkle quilt is wonderful. You will LOVE having a design wall. The bigger the better. Don't skimp on the size. I haven't seen the idea of having layers for different projects. Very clever. Keep us posted on your progress.

  3. Beautiful quilt! Thanks for linking to that layered design wall, what a fantastic idea! I work on a "design floor" and every time I walk by, all my fabric flies in different directions LOL!

  4. Lol. My problem was the kids. I just hate trying to gather everything to put it away.
